Where we live now is called Lido Hill. It's just as normal as other apartments in Guangzhou, with big blocks of building,
and a nice garden,
and somewhere for children and mums to gather,
and some children's play ground, and some traffic noise.
Inside is a Chinese style apartment with man craft wood furniture.
But, as soon as we think of the pretty park steps away, we are happy.

It looks like quality living! My friend in Israel lives just like that, in a high appartment block with a playground at the bottom. (And a little park and the beach near by. Of course it looks very different there.) It's a lovely park! Have you met any of the other mums yet? Is it easy to get in touch and make friends? Tell us more! (And keep practising the downward facing dog in the park ;-)
Alex, many of the people in China live like this. There are two-story houses (so called villa) like in the UK, but mainly in the suburb. We didn't want to live in the suburb, as we didn't think it's necessary to buy a car here. Without a car, in the suburb, a bit difficult.
Living in the apartment block is ok, but a little noisy. You can't find anywhere in the city which is not noisy. Even our previous apartment, it was in a quiet location, but the construction work nearby broke the quietness.
Generally speaking, it's all right to live in the city, quite convenient.
You remember I lived in the heart of Leicester too - for convenience too ;-) Life is so much easier when distances are short and you can walk everywhere!
It won't work here if you want to walk everywhere. The city is GIGANTIC compared to Leicester. We walk to supermarkets for food and small shops or department store for clothes, but for other use, we take buses or taxis. Taxi is cheap.
You know what, I got the habit of checking small shops for bargins, especially for Kai, as a little chair or a new pulli. Jonathan said I should change the habit. ;)
